Bet slip — understanding single and multi bets
Single bet
Selecting one outcome in a single event is a single bet. Example: in a limited-overs match, team A has odds of 1.80 and team B has odds of 2.00. You place ৳500 on team B. If team B wins, you receive ৳1,000 (৳500 profit). If team A wins, ৳500 is lost. Each single bet is independent — the result of one does not affect another.
Multi bet (accumulator)
Combining three or more selections into one bet is a multi bet. Example: if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.50, and 1.90, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.90 = 3.99 (approximately). With a ৳100 stake, if all selections are correct the return is ৳399. But if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. Multi bets offer higher returns but carry higher risk.
Betting exchange: back and lay
Exchange markets have two options. BACK: you place ৳500 on team A to win. If team A wins, you make ৳500 profit before commission; if they lose, ৳500 is gone. LAY: you take the opposite side of a ৳500 bet that team A will not win — at decimal 2.00, your liability is ৳500. If team A does not win, you receive ৳500 (before commission); if they do win, you pay ৳500.
How sports and casino bets work
